The previous version of the website was developed back in 2008 and, to be honest, it was already outdated by the time it launched. With the rise of smartphones and the shift toward browsing websites on mobile devices, the problem only became more apparent: the site was not designed for modern usage scenarios.
However, throughout all these years, the main priority remained the development of our core product - Smartswitch - so the website redesign kept being postponed.
We are happy to announce that the website has finally been completely redesigned! The new site is optimized for mobile devices of various form factors and features a cleaner, more modern visual style.
As with everything we do, during the redesign process we tried to accomplish several goals at once. That is why a new component was introduced into Smartswitch - the Site Builder.
This component allowed us to:
- integrate the website engine and administration panel directly into Smartswitch;
- obtain a system that is independent of third-party vendors and easily extensible to meet our needs and the needs of our clients;
- make this functionality available to Enterprise Edition customers as a new free feature included with the update;
- gain practical experience in developing user interfaces with configurable visual design;
- create a foundation for the continued development of configurable user interfaces within Smartswitch in adjacent areas.
